Terms of Use
The agreement between you and One Load Board, who may use the network, what we do and do not do, how memberships are billed, and what gets an account closed.

Agreeing to these terms
These terms are a contract between you and One Load Board (“we”, “us”, “the network”). You agree to them when you create an account, and you agree to them again every time you use the site, including if you only browse. If you are agreeing on behalf of a company, you are telling us you have the authority to bind it, and “you” means that company from then on.
If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the network. That is not a formality: several of the rules below let us close an account, and you should know about them before you have freight riding on it.
Who may use One Load Board
The network is for freight professionals, and only for business use. You may create an account if all of the following are true:
- You are at least 18 years old.
- You are using the network for a business, not for personal or household purposes.
- If you register as a carrier, you hold active operating authority wherever the freight you haul requires it, and the MC or DOT number you give us is genuinely yours.
- If you register as a broker, you hold an active broker licence and the surety bond that goes with it.
- Neither you nor your company has previously been removed from the network.
Some freight, intrastate work, some exempt commodities, some cargo-van moves, does not require federal authority. We do not ask you to hold authority you do not need. We do require that whatever you tell us about your authority is true.
Your account
One account belongs to one company. You are responsible for everything done through your account, including by your employees and by anyone you share credentials with, so do not share credentials. Keep your password to yourself, and tell us straight away if you think somebody else has it.
The details you register with, company name, MC or DOT number, phone, the state you are based in, have to be accurate, and you have to keep them accurate. Other people on this network decide whether to trust you based on those fields, which is the entire reason we ask for them.
We check operating authority against the FMCSA’s public register. That check tells us whether a number is active and who it belongs to. It is not an endorsement, it is not a credit check, and it is not a guarantee that the company behind it will do what it says it will.
What One Load Board is not
This is the part people skip and should not. One Load Board is a listing and matching service. We show freight that brokers and shippers have posted, and we help carriers find it. That is the whole of what we do.
Specifically, we are not and do not act as:
- A freight broker. We do not arrange for the transportation of property, we do not hold ourselves out as arranging it, and we are not licensed by the FMCSA to do so. We do not accept, hold or disburse freight charges.
- A motor carrier or freight forwarder. We do not transport freight and we never take possession of it.
- A party to your contracts. Every rate confirmation, carrier packet, load agreement and payment term is between you and the other company. We are not a signatory, a guarantor, an escrow agent or an insurer of any of it.
- A payment processor for freight charges. Money for a load moves between you and the other party, on whatever terms you agreed. It does not move through us. The only money we ever take is a carrier membership fee, described below.
It follows that we cannot make somebody pay you, cannot recover a load that went wrong, cannot adjudicate a claim between two members, and cannot reverse a rate you agreed to. What we can do, and do, is act on what we are told. A member who does not pay, who double-brokers, or who misrepresents who they are gets removed, and the report that got them removed is the most useful thing you can send us.
Posting freight
Posting is free for brokers and shippers. No membership, no per-post fee, no cap on how many loads you post, and no commission on freight that moves. We do not intend to change that: a board with no freight on it is worth nothing to the carriers who do pay us, and charging the supply side is how boards end up thin.
When you post a load, you are telling us that:
- The freight is real, is yours to place, and is available on the dates shown.
- The rate shown is the rate you will honour, subject only to conditions stated in the posting itself.
- The origin, destination, equipment, weight and dimensions are accurate as far as you know.
- You will take the posting down, or mark it covered, once it is covered.
Posting freight you do not control, re-posting another broker’s load as your own, or listing a load in order to harvest carrier contact details are each grounds for immediate removal. So is posting a rate you have no intention of paying.
Finding and booking freight
When you make an offer on a load you are making a real offer: if it is accepted, you intend to haul the freight on the terms shown. The contract that results is between you and the posting party, on their paperwork.
Verify before you roll. Check the other party’s authority, check their insurance, check their payment history, and read the rate confirmation. Everything the network shows you about a company is information, not assurance, including the verification badge, which means only that a number was active on the FMCSA register when we looked.
Conduct we remove accounts for
Most rules on most sites are elastic. These are not. Any one of these ends an account, with no warning and no refund of an unused membership:
- Double brokering. Accepting a load as a carrier and re-brokering it to someone else without the posting party’s written consent.
- Identity or authority fraud. Using another company’s MC or DOT number, its name, its insurance certificate or its email domain, including a lookalike domain.
- Posting freight that does not exist, or that you have no right to place.
- Refusing to pay for freight that moved on the terms you agreed.
- Harvesting the network. Scraping, bulk-extracting or reselling load data or member contact details, or pulling listings with an automated tool.
- Sharing or reselling access. One account, one company. A membership is not a licence to run a desk for other people.
We also remove accounts for the ordinary things: harassing other members, attempting to break or overload the site, uploading anything malicious, and using the network to break the law.
Memberships and billing
Carriers can open a free account and use the board straight away. The free account includes a set number of offers, stated on the pricing page; once those are used the board closes until a paid plan is started. Paid plans are Pro at $49 a month and Fleet at $120 a month, with yearly options at $350 and $720. What each plan includes is on the pricing page, and the price shown at checkout is the price that governs.
How payment is taken
Your card details never reach us. We do not store a card number, an expiry date, or even a last four, payment is handled entirely by our payment provider, which is named on the checkout page and on the receipt it sends you, and which is where a saved card is changed or removed.
Renewals
A membership renews automatically at the end of each period, monthly or yearly, at the then-current price for your plan, until you cancel. We will tell you before a price change affects you.
Changing plans
Moving from one paid plan to another is treated as a purchase of the new plan, not as an adjustment of the old one. Three things follow, and all three take effect the moment you confirm:
- You are charged the new plan’s full list price immediately.
- The unused remainder of your old plan is not prorated, credited or refunded.
- A new billing period starts on the day of the switch, and your renewal date moves accordingly.
Cancelling
You can cancel at any time from your membership page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for: you keep the plan, and everything on it, until that date, and then the account drops to Free. We do not cut access off mid-period, and we do not refund the unused part of a period.
If a payment fails, it is retried over a short window. We deliberately leave your plan running while that happens rather than dropping you to Free on the first failure, because an expired card should not cost you a week of freight.
Refunds
We do not give refunds. Membership fees are non-refundable, in every case and at every stage: a period you have started is a period you have paid for, whether or not you used the board during it. Cancelling stops the next charge, it does not reverse the last one, and it does not return the days remaining in the period you are in. A plan switch does not produce a credit either, for the reason set out above: it is a fresh purchase, not an adjustment.
That is a decision, not an oversight. The plans are inexpensive, they can be cancelled in a click at any point before the next renewal, and the free tier exists precisely so that nobody has to pay in order to find out whether this board carries freight on their lanes. Run it on Free until you are sure.
One qualification, and only one: where the law gives you a refund right that cannot be signed away, nothing in this section overrides it. That is not an exception we are offering, it is simply not ours to remove.
The load data on this network
Freight listings come from the companies that post them and from third-party load feeds we license. That content belongs to whoever created it. We show it to you so you can decide whether to haul it, and that is the only right you get in it.
You may not copy, store, redistribute, resell or republish load data from the network, in bulk or systematically, or build a derived dataset or a competing listing service out of it. Automated access, crawlers, scrapers, headless browsers, undocumented API use, is not permitted. Using the board to find and haul freight is.
What you post, and what stays ours
Anything you submit, load postings, company details, messages, stays yours. You give us permission to host it, show it to other members, and include it in the network’s listings and alerts, for as long as you keep it on the network and for as long afterwards as our records require. That permission is the mechanism by which your load reaches a carrier; it is not a claim on your business.
The site itself, the software, the design, the brand, the matching, and the compiled listings, stays ours. Using the network transfers none of it to you.
Suspension and closure
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, that we reasonably believe is being used fraudulently, or that puts other members at risk. Where the situation allows it we will tell you why and give you a chance to answer. Where it does not, active fraud, an account taken over, a threat to somebody else’s freight, we will act first.
You can close your own account whenever you like. Closing it ends the membership at the end of the paid period, the same as cancelling.
Disclaimers
The network is provided as it is. We do not promise that it will be available without interruption, that every listing will be accurate or current, that a load you want will exist, or that any member is solvent, honest or competent. To the fullest extent the law allows, we exclude the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Nothing here excludes a liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, for fraud, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or under any consumer protection law that applies to you despite this being a business service.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost profits, lost freight, deadhead miles, detention, missed appointments, cargo claims, non-payment by another member, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the network.
Where we are liable, our total liability to you for all claims in any twelve-month period is limited to the greater of the membership fees you paid us in that period and one hundred US dollars. That figure is small because the service is cheap and the freight is not: the value at risk on a load is orders of magnitude larger than anything we charge, and the parties who can price that risk are you and your insurer.
Indemnity
If somebody brings a claim against us because of freight you posted or hauled, a contract you entered into through the network, a law you broke, or a term here you ignored, you will cover our reasonable losses and legal costs in dealing with it.
Changes to these terms
We will update these terms as the product changes. When a change materially affects you, the billing rules, the conduct rules, or what we do with your data, we will email paid members and put the new date at the top of this page before it takes effect. Continuing to use the network after that date means you accept the new version. The date at the top is the only reliable record of when this document last changed.
Governing law and disputes
This agreement is governed by the law of the state in which the operating entity is formed, and the courts of that state have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from it. As noted at the top of this page, that entity is in formation and the state will be named here once it exists.
Before anything else, write to us. Almost every dispute on a load board is a misunderstanding about a rate, a date or an accessorial, and almost all of them are solved by somebody reading the thread.
Getting hold of us
Questions about these terms, reports of a member who should not be here, and anything else legal go to support@oneloadboard.com or through the contact page. Reports of double brokering or authority fraud are read first.
How we handle the data behind your account is set out in the Privacy Policy.
